When a reset alone does work

  • After refilling with fresh AdBlue following contamination or running empty
  • After a repaired part needs adaptations or a learn procedure
  • When a one-off fault has been confirmed as cleared

When it won't

If a NOx sensor, pump, injector or heater has failed, the vehicle re-detects it within a drive cycle. Repeated resets can also leave the vehicle with a shorter countdown.
