Sprinter AdBlue Faults & Countdown Warnings

24/7 mobile AdBlue, SCR & NOx assistance — we come to you

The Sprinter is one of the vehicles we attend most. High mileage, long idle periods and underbody-mounted components make its AdBlue system a frequent offender — and a van off the road is a van losing money.

Mobile call-out from £150 minimum. Final cost depends on the vehicle, location, diagnosis and work required. Contact us now for current technician availability and ETA.

Common Sprinter AdBlue faults

  • Downstream NOx sensor and NOx module failure
  • "AdBlue no start in X miles" countdown with a full tank — usually a level sensor or stored system fault
  • Delivery module pressure build failures
  • Crystallised dosing injector on multi-drop, short-journey vans
  • Tank heater circuit failure appearing in cold weather
  • Corroded underbody wiring and connectors after winter road salt

If the countdown is already low

Once it reaches zero the engine will not restart. If you are showing a low number, the practical advice is to get the van somewhere it can be worked on and call us before you switch it off. That single decision often saves a recovery bill.

Diagnosis on a working van

We attend depots, yards and roadside locations. Full fault memory read across the SCR and engine modules, live dosing and pressure data, NOx plausibility checks and circuit testing — then a clear explanation of what has failed and what it will take to put right.

Diagnosis first. Parts second.

A stored fault code names a circuit, not a culprit. A NOx code can be caused by the sensor, its wiring, a connector full of water, an exhaust leak upstream, poor dosing, or a control module that has lost calibration. Replacing the sensor on the strength of the code alone is how people end up paying twice.

We test live data, dosing behaviour, pressure build, heater circuits and sensor plausibility before recommending any part. If a component genuinely has failed, you will see the evidence for it.

Common questions

+My Sprinter says no engine start in 300 miles — what should I do?

Get it somewhere it can be worked on and call us before switching off. The countdown continues regardless of AdBlue level if a system fault caused it, and at zero the van will not restart.

+Why does my Sprinter show an AdBlue warning with a full tank?

Typically a level sensor fault, a quality sensor rejecting the fluid, or a stored dosing/NOx fault that has nothing to do with the level.

+Can you fix a Sprinter AdBlue fault at my depot?

Yes — depot and roadside attendance is standard for us, provided there is safe access to the vehicle.
