What the Crafter dashboard usually says
Exact wording varies by year and software — send us a photo.
- "AdBlue: Engine will not start in XXX miles"
- "Check AdBlue system"
- Yellow emissions and AdBlue warning lamps together
How the Crafter AdBlue system works
The 2.0 TDI Crafter and Transporter T6/T6.1 use a tank-mounted pump and heater with the engine ECU managing dosing. Many have an SCR-coated DPF, so DPF and SCR faults can appear together.
Because VW links SCR and DPF strategies, clearing one fault without checking the other is a common cause of repeat warnings.
Fault codes we commonly see on the Crafter
- P20E9 — Reductant pressure too high
- P20EE — SCR efficiency
- P20BA — Reductant heater performance
What we check on site
The technician confirms the right repair after checking the vehicle. Many faults are fixed on the spot; some need a part ordered. Mobile call-out from £150 minimum. Final cost depends on the vehicle, location, diagnosis and work required.
- Read engine ECU and gateway, record software level
- Check pump pressure and return behaviour
- Test heater circuit and tank sensors
- Check DPF state alongside SCR data
