How the Renault AdBlue system works
Covers: Master, Trafic, Kangoo and dCi Blue engines.
Renault's dCi Blue SCR systems use a heated tank pump, dosing module and NOx sensors. The Master and Trafic share much of their hardware with Vauxhall Movano/Vivaro and Nissan vans of the same era.
Common Renault AdBlue faults we see first
- AdBlue pump and heater faults on Master and Trafic
- NOx sensor failures and efficiency codes
- Countdown messages after poor-quality AdBlue
- Wiring chafe near the tank on high-mileage vans
What we check before quoting
We read the engine and SCR data, check the AdBlue quality reading and inspect tank wiring before quoting.
Send us the registration and the exact dashboard message or fault code by WhatsApp. We confirm the ECU type and whether the job is suitable before arranging a visit.
Who this is for
Masters converted to recovery or race transport for off-road events, and vans prepared for export, make up most enquiries.
